Blue Penny Museum explores the history and art of Mauritius, from the age of discovery and historic Port Louis maps to the island’s past and world-famous postage stamps. Its exhibits cover navigation, the making of Mauritian society and the literary story of Paul et Virginie.
The museum is at Le Caudan Waterfront in Port Louis. Open Monday to Saturday, 09:30–16:00; closed Sundays and public holidays. Regular non-resident admission: adult Rs 325, child/student Rs 200, family ticket for 2 adults and 2 children Rs 820. The resident adult ticket is Rs 50; ask the museum about other resident rates and age eligibility for child/student tickets.
Through 24 October 2026, a limited offer provides free Saturday admission for Grade 5 and Grade 6 pupils and accompanying adults, for Mauritian citizens and residents only. Confirm conditions and availability before visiting. The stamps room is viewable for only 10 minutes at the start of each hour, from 09:15, 10:15 and so on.
