Mauritius Beach Clubs: 10 Places for a Day by the Sea
A day by the sea in Mauritius can mean renting a lounger in Trou aux Biches, spending an afternoon with music at Beach Rouge, or taking a boat to a small island where beach service is reserved for resort guests. “Beach club” covers very different arrangements here: an attractive photograph does not tell you whether you can use the pool.
This guide covers 10 beach-club-style venues: independent clubs, hotel-based restaurant clubs and two private island beach facilities. The three Beach Rouge venues are separate clubs on different coasts, not repeated listings of one address. The island venues are identified separately because they do not operate like clubs with ordinary paid admission.
What to book: a table, a lounger or a full day
A restaurant reservation does not automatically include the pool, towels or beach loungers. A day pass may bundle these services, but check its inclusions, dining credit and restrictions separately. Tell resort-based clubs if you are not staying at their hotel. Information was checked against official pages on 2 October 2026; current confirmation from the venue takes precedence over a published price.
The north: beach days and evenings with music
1. La Plage by Evaco — Trou aux Biches
La Plage suits a straightforward beach day without checking into a resort: sand, a lounger and a restaurant nearby. Facilities include beach towels, lockers, parking and Wi-Fi. Its official page lists a single lounger at MUR 950 for the general public and MUR 475 for Evaco residents, for use between 09:00 and 18:00.
This is a lounger rental, not a universal all-inclusive offer: do not assume meals or extra services are covered. Loungers are allocated first come, first served, so a table reservation does not guarantee one. It is a practical choice for couples or a small group who want a beach and a long lunch more than a large party. Check the current terms on La Plage’s official page.
2. 2Beach Club — Pereybere
2Beach Club brings several settings together: a pool, direct beach access, a restaurant, a sandy bar and a rooftop for evening gatherings. Its menu features seafood, sushi and salads, while the website has separate sections for events and private celebrations. It suits visitors who want to combine a swim and a meal without moving between venues.
However, the facilities are linked to a membership system. Official terms allow day membership packages only subject to availability and management discretion. You can request a table, but confirm pool, lounger and towel access separately, especially if you are neither a member nor a tenant through 2Futures Holidays. Compare the club’s website with its membership terms.
3. Beach Rouge at LUX* Grand Baie — Grand Baie
This Beach Rouge combines a Mediterranean restaurant with a beachfront club: leisurely lunches give way to different lighting and an evening music mood. Red parasols and loungers make it recognisable even from above. Choose it for the combination of a beach setting, dinner and music; check performances and special events for your particular date.
LUX* Grand Baie publishes a separate resort day package at MUR 12,000 per adult and MUR 6,000 per child aged 6–11, valid until 31 October 2026. This is a hotel package including dining and facilities, not the admission price for Beach Rouge alone. Advance booking and availability apply; ask the restaurant about arrangements if you only want lunch. See Beach Rouge Grand Baie and the day package.
4. Beach Rouge at LUX* Grand Gaube — Grand Gaube
The Grand Gaube branch is a different address with a different view: its open terrace sits beside a small beach bay. Its Mediterranean menu includes fish, salads and pasta, with cocktails and evening music following the daytime restaurant rhythm. It is an option for visitors based in the northeastern part of Mauritius rather than central Grand Baie.
The official page lists a Tuesday closure; check before setting out. Non-residents should arrange a table and ask separately whether hotel beach facilities are available. Do not assume Grand Baie’s day package applies here: each venue has its own menu, timetable and terms. Booking details are on the Beach Rouge Grand Gaube page.
The west and south: a seaside evening or a pool day
5. Buddha-Bar Beach at Sugar Beach — Wolmar, Flic en Flac
Buddha-Bar Beach is Sugar Beach’s beach club on the west coast. Its appeal is the combination of dining, cocktails and the distinctive Buddha-Bar music concept: come for the atmosphere, not simply a sunbed. An open setting overlooking the shore lends itself to starting with lunch and staying into the evening.
The club is inside a resort, so non-residents should confirm their reservation and permitted visit arrangements with Sugar Beach. A Buddha-Bar table does not automatically include every hotel pool or service. If a DJ set or event matters to you, ask about that specific evening rather than relying on a general description of the music concept. Contacts and venue information are on the official Buddha-Bar Beach Mauritius page.
6. C Beach Club — Bel Ombre
C Beach Club is a relatively straightforward choice for a full day: it explicitly advertises passes with pool access, beach loungers, a towel and selected non-motorised water activities. There is a children’s pool area, and DJ entertainment is advertised at weekends. For families, the useful feature is the combination of facilities: lunch, changing and a place by the water do not require separate searches.
Take care with prices: the website displays both a regular tariff and a special August package with different inclusions. The August promotion cannot be treated as valid in October. Ask for the current rate, children’s age bands and dining credit when booking. Water activities depend on weather and availability; check Sunday brunch as a separate offer. Start with C Beach Club’s official page.
The east: restaurant clubs and private island beaches
7. Beach Rouge at LUX* Belle Mare — Belle Mare
At Belle Mare, Beach Rouge occupies an east-coast beach setting. Mediterranean food takes centre stage: seafood and meat can be selected from dedicated counters, with seating under a canopy or on the sand. The evening red lighting and music retain the wider Beach Rouge concept, but this is a separate branch, not the Grand Baie club.
Consider it if you are already staying in the east and want a beach restaurant that becomes an evening gathering place. Arrange non-resident visits and use of resort facilities in advance. Cover swimwear during the day; evenings require smarter clothing, and the official website specifically asks men to wear trousers. Menus and terms are on the Beach Rouge Belle Mare page.
8. RIVA at One&Only Le Saint Géran — Pointe de Flacq
RIVA is One&Only Le Saint Géran’s beach and pool club with an Italian restaurant. Antipasti, pasta and grilled seafood feature on the menu, alongside private cabanas: separate serviced lounging areas. Think of a day around good food and the pool rather than an open dance venue.
The website offers restaurant experiences and cabana reservations separately. Ask whether non-residents are accepted on your date and what your chosen booking covers: dining, loungers and a cabana need not come as one package. Do not confuse RIVA with Club One, the same resort’s sports and family facilities. Details and reservations are on RIVA’s official page.
9. Îlot Mangénie at Shangri-La Le Touessrok — a private island
Îlot Mangénie is Shangri-La’s private island beach setting: sand, serviced cabanas, a restaurant and a bar instead of an ordinary roadside club. It is roughly a ten-minute boat ride from Le Touessrok. Seafood, salads and pizza feature in the dining offer; this is better suited to a quiet lunch and relaxation than searching for a large party.
The key restriction is exclusive access for Shangri-La guests. Staying at another hotel or booking an ordinary excursion does not meet that condition. Lunch and cabanas may carry separate charges; boat schedules and trips depend on local conditions. Do not expect a publicly available day pass. See the island restaurant page and the resort website’s access information.
10. Four Seasons Exclusive Beach and La Plaz — Île aux Cerfs
This is not a standalone public beach club. Its official name is Four Seasons Exclusive Beach, with La Plaz Beach Grill providing the dining element. It is included for its club-style facilities: a dedicated beach, loungers, beach service and meals by the water. The photograph shows La Plaz’s actual bar, not an unrelated restaurant on Île aux Cerfs.
The facilities are for guests of Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita, who arrive by boat from the resort. La Plaz serves seafood, salads and dishes for sharing. An ordinary Île aux Cerfs excursion does not entitle you to use this area. Arrange the transfer, included services and dining charges with the hotel beforehand. The official source is Four Seasons Exclusive Beach.
Choose the right venue without buying an unnecessary package
For a straightforward lounger rental, start with La Plage; for a pool, beach and family day package, look at C Beach Club. If dining and music matter most, compare Beach Rouge on the coast that suits you with Buddha-Bar Beach. RIVA and 2Beach require careful booking choices, while Îlot Mangénie and the Four Seasons beach are best considered part of a stay at their respective resorts.
- Provide the date, adult numbers and children’s ages; obtain confirmation that non-residents are accepted.
- Ask whether the pool, lounger, towel, shower and changing facilities are included, not only dining.
- Distinguish admission charges, minimum spend and dining credit: they are different things.
- Check dress codes, evening programmes, cancellation terms and bad-weather arrangements.
- Arrange your return transport; do not plan to drive after cocktails.
The best beach club is one whose access, atmosphere and facilities match your day. A confirmed lounger and a clear bill are more useful than an “all-inclusive” promise that turns out to mean only an attractive seaside table.
