Ebony Forest Reserve

Ebony Forest in Chamarel restores native woodland and protects Mauritius’ endemic wildlife. Take a Hike (easy, 2.3–6.1 km / 1–4 h) includes self-guided trails, a guided 300 m raised Flycatcher Walk through ebony, the natural-history museum and wildlife film (EN 6 min/FR 8 min). Hourly guided tours: 09:30–16:00; no booking needed (groups should contact ahead). Closes 17:00; arrive before 14:30. Parking; no picnics; snacks/drinks sold on site.

Take a Hike, MUR: resident adult/age 5–17 Rs400/250; resident groups over 10 Rs360/225; non-resident Rs600/370. Ages 0–4 free; online tickets 10% off. Green Loop: residents Rs250/190, non-residents Rs300/230 (adult/child). Take a Drive (book, min. 2 adults): residents Rs1,050/630; non-residents Rs1,600/1,080 (adult/child); ages 0–4 free for all three.
