Near Souillac on Mauritius’s exposed south coast, Gris Gris is an officially listed public beach facing the open ocean. Walk the dark shore, view the cliffs and surf; La Roche Qui Pleure is nearby.
Swimming: This is not a reef-sheltered lagoon. Strong currents and large waves make swimming and snorkelling unsuitable. Keep away from cliff edges and rocks, heed warning signs and enjoy the view from a safe place.
Price: Public beach access in Mauritius is free. A Gris Gris parking fee, if any, could not be confirmed; check locally. Private services may cost extra. See the Government notice and the Beach Authority beach list.
