At Domaine de Labourdonnais in Mapou, the neoclassical Château (1856–1859) offers restored historic rooms, gardens and orchards, an underground museum, estate fruit products and rum tastings.
The official site lists resident rates only (MUR, VAT included; Mauritian citizens/residents must show valid proof). See the prices below; current non-resident rates are not published. Confirm directly: +230 266 3007 or leisure@ddl.mu. The Classic Tour (1 h 30) covers the Château, gardens and tasting; the 2-hour Full Guided Tour also includes the underground museum and starts at 10:00 and 14:00. Tastings last 45 minutes; minors receive juice and fruit jellies only, no rum.
Open daily 09:00–17:00 (last entry 15:45); Château and bar close at 16:30. Guided tours run Monday–Saturday except public holidays. Closed 25 December and 1–2 January. The Château and underground museum are inaccessible to wheelchair users and visitors with reduced mobility.
