L’Aventure du Sucre is an interactive museum in a former sugar factory near the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden. Its exhibition tells the story of Mauritius through sugarcane, the colonial period, the sugar industry, rum, the economy and everyday life. A visit can take 45 minutes to three hours and includes tastings of more than 30 cane products at the Village Boutik, including natural brown sugars, New Grove rum, jams, honey and vanilla.

The museum is open Monday–Saturday, including public holidays, from 10:00 to 16:00. Last entry is recommended at 15:00; the ticket office closes at 15:15. The museum is closed on Sundays and exceptionally from 24–26 December and 31 December–2 January.

General admission: adults Rs 1,200; children 6–13, youth 13–18 and students 18–25 Rs 600; under 6 free. A 10% family discount applies. Resident rates are lower. The audio guide, children’s trails and tastings are included.
